I have just returned from a trip to the Robertson Pie Shop in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. In the mid eighties the owner of the Robertson Pie Shop applied to extend his commercial premises. The local municipality rejected his application, and in protest he declared he would secede from the Commonwealth. The Principality of Laird’s Corner was born.
