George Cruickshank (of Atlantium) has announced an academic conference on micronations:
I’m delighted to announce that the world’s first serious academic conference on the subject of micronations will take place in Sydney on 17 April 2010.
The 1-day conference is being convened by Dr Judy Lattas, and funded by Macquarie University. It will take place on beautiful Dangar Island, in the Hawkesbury River, just north of Sydney.
Dr Judy Lattas has previously published papers on micronationalism including DIY Sovereignty and the Popular Right in Australia and Queer Sovereignty: the Gay & Lesbian Kingdom of the Coral Sea Islands.
Anyone with an interest in micronations would do well to attend the conference in Sydney next April. Naturally the author of this blog will be in attendance.
